Great Selling Experience with Shelly! I can't say enough good things about my experience with Shelly. I had a very challenging situation. I was selling a home I converted to a rental. The renters left it in significant state disrepair, and it required a lot of work. Being military, I wasn't living in Abilene and couldn't personally handle much of the work required to get the home ready to sell.
Shelly handled all of the repairs and used her extensive knowledge of the local market to update the look to match market demand. The process was almost completely hands off on my part and Shelly spent a lot of time shopping deals to save me money on materials and contractors. The finished home looked amazing, and the cost was much lower than it could have been.
The selling process was likewise very easy and smooth. Shelly generated a detailed market assessment and price for our home. She was aggressive with pricing but realistic with expectation management. Shelly worked very hard to market the house and conducted several open houses. She was very proactive at pushing information to us on status and sale strategy. I never felt like I had to reach out to her first. She kept us very well informed.
Once we got an offer on the house, Shelly was very proactive on getting us the best deal possible. The closing process was very easy despite me living over 1000 miles away. We were able to sign everything online from our home.
My experience with Shelly was nothing short of phenomenal and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Her extensive expertise is not just with home sales, but with repair, remodeling, marketing and communication. I felt like I was working with family rather than a business. We recently moved to Abilene from Ohio. We were first introduced to Shelly from our our BHHS realtor via their network. We were selling our current Ohio home and buying in Abilene when the housing market was going crazy and everything was selling so fast. Being across the country, it was difficult to view a property before it sold.. and Shelly stepped up big time. She would recommend, or we would ask about a house and within hours, she was there to see it for us. She would take us on a very detailed virtual tour of the home and was so patient. It was evident from the very beginning that she knew the market and knew her role as a BHHS relocation specialist. She quickly became our advocate in a series of offers, inspections and Texas-specific details…i.e. bigger HVAC systems and soil/foundation issues. Remember, we were from Ohio and had no idea of the major cultural and weather differences.
The first time we physically walked into our new home, was the day we arrived in Abilene with our full size moving truck and Shelly was waiting with our keys.
